“The Inspirer”

My name is Jim Holden, the founder of Fish for Life. I live in San Clemente, California and I am an avid salt water angler.

I have a dear friend, Jeffrey Kutcher who has cerebral palsy.

Jeffrey and I have had many lunches over the years and during some we have talked about fishing. It was after one of these lunches that I thought I would like to take him on a half day fishing trip, and little did I know that one thought was the very begining of “Fish for Life”!

The blessing of ideas started pouring in!

Ideas like, why not take a boat load of kids who also have this disorder fishing? Why limit the trips to kids with cerebral palsy, why not include people with other special needs? Why not include some kids who are struggling with drug or alcohol issues or discipline problems? Why not introduce these little angels with a red carpet introduction? Why not involve non-special needs kids & adults to serve them? Why not have everyone wear a Fish for Life T-Shirt?  And so on.

As plans were developing, I told Jeff that I wanted to make him business cards with the title of his choice.  I suggested “First Mate” or “Crew” or a variety of other titles and then asked Jeff what he prefers? After deep consideration Jeff produced a big smile and said “Inspirer”.

I would now like to introduce you to the “Inspirer”, Jeff Kutcher

Since the first trip in 2010 we have enjoyed SIX Fish for Life trips with over 100 people attending per voyage! My wish is that the Fish for Life experience will motivate many people to take action with their ideas to help make our world a better and more loving experience!

God bless,

Jim
